Guzman, Jaime, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Jaime Guzman is currently a Staff Rheumatologist at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, BC and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of British Columbia (UBC). 

Dr. Guzman received his medical degree and specialties in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology in Mexico. He then moved to Canada where he received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto and completed specialty in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The University of Manitoba. He has published more than 35 research papers and book chapters. His medical practice involves assessment and rehabilitation of people with musculoskeletal injuries and diseases. His most recent publications deal with the epidemiology, assessment and management of neck pain which he completed in his role as member of the Scientific Secretariat of the Bone and Joint Decade 2000-2010 Task Force on Neck Pain and its Associated Disorders.

Dr. Guzman was previously in Toronto where he had joint appointments at the University of Toronto, the Institute for Work & Health, and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. He is part of research networks related to prevention of disability, including the CIHR Work Disability Prevention Training Program based at Universite de Sherbrooke, the Centre of Research Expertise on Improved Disability Outcomes based at University Health Network in Toronto, and the Community University Research Alliance on the Consequences of Work Injury based at MacMaster University.
